Giving

Please help us to maintain and expand our considerable programs and services.

Giving Opportunities
Gifts

The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation invites gifts, bequests, and endowments from individuals and organizations.  In time of joy, giving provides a way to share good times; in times of sorrow, giving makes a positive statement of hope.  Gift support provides a lasting and useful testament of admiration, friendship, and love.

Leave a Legacy

The Legacy Society is an association of hospital friends and benefactors who are committed to continuing the mission of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.  An invitation to join is extended to all who would like to make a provision for Arroyo Grande Community Hospital through wills, estate plans or life income agreements such as charitable remainder trusts, life insurance policies, pooled income funds or remainder interest in a residence.

The Caring Circle

Community members and hospital employees are invited to help carry out the mission of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital by becoming a member of the Caring Circle.  Contributions may be made through payroll deductions or outright donations to the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation.

Ways to Donate
Outright Gifts

Outright gifts to the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation can take many forms, including:

1. Cash, check, or credit card charges
2. Stocks and Bonds
3. Life insurance

Planned or Deferred Gifts

By making a planned or deferred gift, you can make a significant contribution to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.  In many cases you can enjoy certain tax benefits from your gift, which may include:

1. Wills and bequests
2. Charitable remainder trusts
3. Charitable lead trusts
4. Gift annuities
5. Life insurance
6. Retirement plans

Wills, Living Trusts and Endowments

Charitable bequests to the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation can be made in your will or living trust by specifying a certain dollar amount, a particular asset or a portion of the remainder of your estate once other bequests are paid out.  Charitable bequests are deductible from estate taxes.  Families may also set up memorial endowments to honor the memory of a loved one or to serve a specific need at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

Trusts

Gifts of Charitable Remainder Trusts allow you to transfer assets into a trust that will provide an annual income stream to your beneficiaries for life or for a specific term of years.  Once terminated, the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation receives the principal of the trust to be used according to your instructions.

An Annuity Trust provides a fixed annual income based on a percentage of the initial fair market value of the asset on the date of the gift.

A Unitrust pays a percentage of the fair market value of the trust, valued annually.  Charitable Lead Trusts are a good option for donors with sizable estates and concerns about the estate tax that will be levied when passed on to their children or beneficiaries.  Such a trust pays income to the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation for a number of years or for your lifetime, after which your heirs receive the trust principal.

Give in Honor or Memory of Someone
Tribute and Memorial Program

Our Tribute and Memorial Program provides you with the opportunity to give a gift of lasting value.  A gift to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital can be a fitting, personal way to honor the memory or successes of a loved one, or mark other milestones in life.  Loved ones can also contribute together to establish a special fund in a person's memory.

A tribute gift may be made in celebration of a birthday, wedding anniversaries, or other special one-time occasions.  A tribute gift can be made as a way of thanking a special nurse or physician for the care received.

When you send us a charitable gift as a memorial or tribute, the Foundation will send a card to the person or family you designate - notifying them of your thoughtful contribution.  The amount you give is always confidential.
